Duties Safely operate tractor-trailers with manual transmission across assigned routes, including OTR driving routes, ensuring compliance with all FMCSA and DOT regulations. Load and unload freight using manual handling techniques, managing logistics cargo handling efficiently for various types of cargo such as hazardous materials, dangerous goods, or specialty freight like refrigerated or tanker loads. Use GPS navigation and route planning tools to optimize delivery schedules while maintaining punctuality and safety standards. Transport automobile transportation units or other specialized freight using flatbed or tanker trucks as required. Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety, including checking for mechanical issues, proper load securement, and compliance with safety protocols. Maintain accurate delivery logs, shipment documentation, and incident reports following company policies and regulatory requirements. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate deliveries, provide updates on delivery status, and resolve any issues promptly. Qualifications Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record; experience operating tractor-trailers preferred. Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including delivery driving on route driving or OTR routes. Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT regulations, hazardous materials regulations (Hazmat), and safety standards related to truck loading/unloading and manual handling. Ability to operate manual transmission trucks confidently; experience with refrigerated trailers or tankers is a plus. Strong understanding of GPS navigation systems and route planning tools for efficient delivery scheduling. Excellent communication skills to coordinate with dispatch teams and customers effectively.
