Position Summary: Austin Hardwoods – located in Denver, Colorado – has been family-owned since 1979. We provide manufacturing services and a variety of forest products to wholesale, commercial, and retail customers, including hardwood lumber, plywood, custom hardwood millwork, mouldings, glued panels, and woodworking tools. We are currently looking for a team-oriented, self-motivated CDL Class A Driver to join our team. This position is responsible for safely and efficiently transporting products to customers and other designated locations while maintaining accurate deliveries and providing excellent customer service. The ideal candidate has a strong safety record, a professional attitude, and the flexibility to operate both Class A vehicles and company straight trucks as business needs require. Key Responsibilities: Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles and company straight trucks to transport and deliver products to customers and designated locations. Load, unload, secure, and transport hardwood lumber, plywood, millwork, and other forest products while preventing damage. Verify orders, delivery tickets, and shipping documentation to ensure accurate and complete deliveries. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any maintenance needs, defects, or safety concerns. Maintain compliance with all applicable DOT regulations, hours-of-service requirements, and company safety policies. Ensure timely deliveries and communicate effectively with dispatch, warehouse personnel, customers, and management. Assist with loading, unloading, staging, and other warehouse or delivery-related duties as needed. Maintain a clean, organized, and professional vehicle and work environment. Provide courteous, professional customer service at delivery locations. Follow all company procedures for vehicle operation, product handling, and workplace safety. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications & Requirements: Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL A). Minimum of 18 months of previous CDL A driving experience. Minimum of three years of a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR). Ability and willingness to operate both Class A commercial vehicles and straight trucks as needed. Demonstrated commitment to safe driving practices and compliance with DOT regulations. Ability to safely handle, load, unload, and secure lumber and other building materials. Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills. Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently while contributing to a team environment. Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position, including lifting, carrying, and handling materials as needed. Previous experience transporting lumber, building materials, or other forest products is a plus. Travel Requirements: Local and regional driving to customer locations and other designated destinations. Regular operation of company commercial vehicles and straight trucks. Occasional adjustments to delivery schedules and routes based on business needs. Overnight travel is not expected for routine deliveries. Compensation & Benefits: Hourly Pay: $31.00 - $34.00 per hour, based on experience.
