Use GPS navigation systems to plan and follow optimal delivery routes, ensuring timely arrivals and efficient fuel usage. Transport freight securely, managing logistics and handling cargo with precision to prevent damage or loss. Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections on trucks and trailers, focusing on safety features, load stability, and compliance with hazardous materials regulations if applicable. Maintain accurate delivery documentation, logs, and reports in accordance with DOT regulations. Communicate effectively with dispatch teams and customers to coordinate deliveries and resolve any route or delivery issues promptly. Skills Proven experience operating refrigerated tractor-trailers in a commercial driving environment. Strong knowledge of GPS navigation tools for route planning and real-time adjustments. Familiarity with automobile transportation regulations including Hazmat (hazardous materials), dangerous goods handling, and DOT compliance standards. Skilled in manual handling techniques for safe load & unload procedures; experience with truck loading and unloading is preferred. Excellent driving skills with a valid CDL A license; experience with manual transmission trucks is a must! Ability to adhere to FMCSA regulations and hazardous materials regulations consistently while maintaining safety standards. Knowledge of logistics cargo handling processes for freight security and integrity during transit. Strong route driving skills across diverse terrains and conditions Effective communication skills for coordinating deliveries and ensuring customer satisfaction.
