Responsibilities Safely operate tractor-trailers, including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or specialized equipment for automobile transportation and hazardous materials. Navigate routes using GPS navigation systems to ensure timely deliveries across over-the-road (OTR) driving routes. Load and unload freight manually or with equipment, ensuring proper handling of logistics cargo while complying with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations. Deliver freight accurately and efficiently, maintaining communication with dispatchers to update delivery statuses and address route adjustments. Adhere strictly to DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations, hazardous materials regulations, and safety protocols during all phases of transportation. Manage truck loading and unloading processes, including securing loads properly for safe transit. Conduct routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure compliance with safety standards and prevent breakdowns. Document delivery activities thoroughly, including logs for load & unload times, route details, and any incidents or irregularities encountered during trips. Experience Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A with a clean driving record. Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including route driving and delivery driving within OTR settings. Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, flatbed trucks, tankers, or other specialized trucking equipment is preferred. Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) standards, hazardous materials regulations, and dangerous goods handling. Experience with GPS navigation systems for efficient route planning and execution. Demonstrated ability to manually handle cargo safely and efficiently in compliance with safety standards. Prior experience in automobile transportation or freight delivery is advantageous but not mandatory; a strong willingness to learn is essential.
