Job Overview As a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) A OTR Driver, you’ll move freight safely and reliably across over-the-road (OTR) routes. You’ll operate a tractor-trailer, plan routes with GPS navigation, and handle cargo according to its type and applicable safety requirements. This role may involve refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or automobile transportation. Responsibilities Drive commercial trucks on OTR and other assigned delivery routes; use GPS navigation to support safe, efficient travel. Inspect and operate tractor-trailers, including vehicles with manual transmissions, and follow Department of Transportation (DOT) and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations. Load, unload, and secure freight using appropriate manual handling and logistics cargo-handling practices. Transport general freight and, when assigned, hazardous materials or dangerous goods in compliance with applicable regulations. Your impact: Safe driving and careful cargo handling help customers receive freight in good condition and on schedule. Keep the assigned truck clean and report maintenance needs promptly. Communicate with dispatch regarding routes progress, delays, and equipment issues. Requirements Valid CDL Class A and ability to operate commercial trucks and tractor-trailers; manual-transmission experience is needed for applicable equipment. Knowledge of truck driving, commercial driving, delivery driving, route driving, and safe load and unload procedures. Ability to handle freight and perform manual loading and unloading tasks. Hazmat qualifications are required for hazardous-materials assignments; familiarity with hazardous materials regulations is important. At least 2 years of commercial truck driving experience preferred. Compensation and Benefits Weekly pay; compensation details will be provided during the hiring process. Company-provided truck.
