About Us Special Events is Northern California’s leading event and tent production company, providing tents, structures, flooring, staging, and event infrastructure for weddings, corporate events, festivals, and large-scale productions throughout the Bay Area and beyond. We're seeking a motivated Junior Class A Commercial Driver to join our transportation and logistics team. This is an excellent opportunity for a newer CDL driver looking to build experience in a growing company while working alongside experienced drivers, mechanics, warehouse staff, and event crews. Position Summary The Junior Class A Commercial Driver is responsible for safely transporting event equipment, tents, staging, and rental inventory to and from event sites throughout Northern California. This position will work closely with our logistics team and senior drivers to ensure safe, efficient deliveries while maintaining company vehicles and equipment. This role is ideal for someone who recently obtained their Class A CDL or has limited commercial driving experience and wants to develop a long-term career in transportation and logistics. Responsibilities Safely operate tractor-trailers, flatbeds, and other commercial vehicles Transport event equipment to warehouses, venues, and customer locations Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections Ensure loads are properly secured and compliant with DOT regulations Assist with loading and unloading trucks when needed Maintain accurate delivery paperwork and driver logs Communicate effectively with dispatch, warehouse, and event crews Keep trucks, trailers, and equipment clean and presentable Report vehicle maintenance issues and safety concerns promptly Support warehouse and yard operations during non-driving periods Follow all company safety procedures and DOT requirements Qualifications Required Valid Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL) - MANUAL LICENSE NEEDED Clean driving record Current Medical Examiner's Certificate (or ability to obtain) Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and background check Strong work ethic and positive attitude Ability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds Reliable transportation to our Livermore facility Preferred 2+ year of commercial driving experience Experience with flatbed or trailer operations Forklift certification or warehouse experience Familiarity with DOT regulations and inspections Experience towing trailers or operating equipment What We Offer Competitive hourly pay Overtime opportunities Paid training and career development Growth opportunities into Senior Driver and Logistics positions Team-oriented culture with year-round work Schedule Part or Full-time Typical shifts begin early morning Evenings, weekends, and overtime required during peak event seasons Local and regional driving throughout Northern California Home most nights Why Join Special Events?
