Job Overview Join our dynamic team as a Commercial Driver's License A Flatbed Truck Driver and take charge of delivering freight across diverse routes with energy and precision! In this vital role, you'll operate flatbed trailers, transporting a variety of cargo including freight, hazardous materials, and specialized equipment. Your expertise in commercial truck driving, combined with your commitment to safety and efficiency, will ensure timely deliveries while adhering to all FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations. Duties Safely operate tractor-trailers with manual transmission on long-distance and route driving assignments, ensuring compliance with all FMCSA and DOT regulations. Load, secure, and unload freight using proper manual handling techniques, including logistics cargo handling for flatbed and tanker loads. Navigate efficiently using GPS systems to optimize routes and meet delivery schedules across OTR routes. Transport a variety of cargo such as freight, hazardous materials (hazmat), dangerous goods, refrigerated trailers, and automobile transportation. Perform pre-trip inspections of trucks and trailers to ensure safety standards are met; conduct routine maintenance checks as needed. Load and unload cargo at multiple destinations while adhering to truck loading/unloading protocols; handle special equipment like tanker or flatbed trailers when required. Maintain accurate documentation for deliveries, shipments, load & unload logs, and compliance with FMCSA and hazardous materials regulations. Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and safety personnel to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve issues promptly. Requirements Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A with clean driving record. Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including route driving and delivery driving in flatbed or tanker trucks. Knowledge of FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration), DOT (Department of Transportation), hazardous materials regulations, and hazardous goods handling procedures. Ability to operate manual transmission trucks confidently; experience with tractor-trailers preferred. Familiarity with GPS navigation systems for route planning and real-time adjustments. Strong understanding of truck loading/unloading procedures, logistics cargo handling, and safety protocols for dangerous goods. Excellent manual handling skills for load & unload activities; physically capable of lifting heavy cargo when necessary.
