Responsibilities Safely operate tractor-trailers with flatbed configurations on long-distance OTR routes, ensuring compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards. Load, secure, and unload freight using manual handling techniques, ensuring proper cargo handling for freight including hazardous materials and dangerous goods. Navigate efficiently using GPS systems to optimize delivery routes while maintaining punctuality and safety. Transport various types of freight such as refrigerated trailers, tanker loads, automobile transportation, and other logistics cargo handling tasks. Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck, trailer, and load to guarantee vehicle safety and compliance with hazardous materials regulations. Manage documentation accurately for load & unload records, delivery manifests, and compliance paperwork related to hazardous goods. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients to coordinate delivery schedules, report issues promptly, and ensure customer satisfaction. Skills Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a focus on flatbed, tanker, or refrigerated trailer operations. Strong knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT regulations, hazardous materials regulations, and safety protocols for dangerous goods. Skilled in route driving using GPS navigation systems for efficient planning and execution of over-the-road routes. Ability to handle manual transmission trucks confidently while performing truck loading and unloading tasks safely. Experience in delivery driving with a focus on freight handling, load securing, and transportation of sensitive or hazardous cargo. Excellent driving record demonstrating safe tractor-trailer operation over long distances on route driving assignments. Familiarity with logistics cargo handling procedures including manual handling techniques for heavy or awkward loads.
