Cold Storage Warehouse Lead

Job title:  Warehouse Lead 

Reports to:  Supervisor – Warehouse 

Payroll status:  Non-exempt

Job Summary:  Responsible for coordinating work efforts of warehouse employees, typically with relation to an area of the warehouse facility or identified set of activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily activities of warehouse staff are completed accurately and timely, following defined procedures and policies while ensuring customer service standards are met. 
• Verifies items received by checking identifying information of items, inspecting condition of items, and recording count/measure of items following established procedures. 
• Maintains inventory by identifying, labeling, and placing materials and supplies in stock; recording location of inventory utilizing recognized practices.  
• Prepares product for shipment by identifying, pulling, packing, loading, and securing product by means of defined procedures. 
• Documents product shipment by recording units shipped utilizing defined processes. 
• Maintains material-handling equipment by completing pre-use inspections, following appropriate operating procedures, and requesting repairs. 
• Processes inventory by stacking, un-stacking, restacking, wrapping, unwrapping, and other processes as assigned.  
• Maintains a safe working environment by following safety rules and regulations. 
• Other job duties assigned that include but are not limited to wave planning, assisting supervisors, and covering for warehouse labor as needed.

Required Skills:

• Regularly stand and walk for 8 or more hours in a day. 
• Effectively handle lifting, pushing, pulling up to 60 pounds frequently.
• Frequently required to bend, twist, stoop, grip, climb or balance, reach with hands and arms.   
• Use strong math skills to count and multiply accurately. 
• Use non-motorized and powered equipment.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma.
• Prior warehouse/distribution experience preferred.
• Prior use of forklift and other motorized equipment desired.
• Customer service experience preferred.
