Logistics Specialist Pay Rate: $28 an Hour Monday to Friday 8 am to 5 pm Logistics Specialist Job Summary We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Clinical Logistics Specialist to oversee the supply chain and logistics operations within a dynamic biotech environment. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in supply chain management, warehouse operations, and logistics planning, with a focus on supporting clinical and research activities. This role involves coordinating procurement, inventory control, transportation, and distribution processes to ensure seamless delivery of materials essential for clinical trials and biotech research. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong data analysis skills, process improvement capabilities, and cross-functional communication to optimize supply chain efficiency and compliance. Duties Manage end-to-end supply chain processes including procurement, inventory management, shipping & receiving, and warehouse distribution to support clinical operations. Coordinate transportation planning and logistics management using systems such as Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS). Utilize data analysis tools like SQL, Excel data analysis, and Tableau to monitor inventory levels, analyze supply chain metrics, and identify opportunities for process improvement. Oversee vendor management and sourcing activities, including negotiation of pricing and terms with suppliers, 3PL providers, and freight carriers. Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, trade compliance standards, and shipping & customs documentation requirements. Implement category management strategies to optimize materials handling, stocking levels, and procurement practices aligned with demand planning. Conduct root cause analysis for supply disruptions or inventory discrepancies to develop effective corrective actions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as production planning, quality assurance, and customer service to ensure timely order fulfillment and optimal logistics flow. Qualifications Proven experience in supply chain operations within a biotech or pharmaceutical environment with expertise in warehouse management, logistics coordination, and materials handling. Strong knowledge of ERP systems such as AS400 or similar platforms; proficiency in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Inventory Management Systems is essential. Data analysis skills using SQL, spreadsheets (Excel), and visualization tools like Tableau for supply chain analytics. Familiarity with transportation management systems (TMS), freight forwarding (including NVOCC), shipping & receiving procedures, and international trade regulations. Experience practicing in a supply chain operations role with a focus on procurement, sourcing, vendor management, and demand planning. Excellent negotiation skills coupled with the ability to manage pricing strategies effectively. Strong understanding of inventory control principles including MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems such as MRPII or similar tools. Demonstrated ability to improve processes through analysis skills and process improvement initiatives. Effective communication skills for cross-functional collaboration across departments such as manufacturing, quality assurance, procurement, and logistics teams.
