Job Info Job Location: Kansas City, Missouri Route Type: Local Type of Assignment: Direct Hire Transmission Type: Automatic Job Requirements Experience: 2+ years Handling: Heavy Touch Additional Information Fleet Maintenance Supervisor – Class B $55,000–$60,000 per year, depending on experience Kansas City, Missouri About the Position Our client is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the maintenance, service, and repair of a fleet consisting primarily of shuttles, buses, and vans. This role provides supervision and direction to fleet maintenance personnel, handles advanced maintenance issues, and supports safe, reliable fleet operations. Pay & Schedule Details Annual salary: $55,000–$60,000, depending on experience Monday through Friday schedule Split shift: 6:00 a.m.–10:00 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.–5:30 p.m. Central Time Key Responsibilities Schedule and assign shifts, establish work priorities, and develop and implement preventive maintenance programs. Supervise and assist with the repair and maintenance of fleet vehicles while enforcing applicable safety practices and procedures. Manage and analyze fleet maintenance and operating costs, prepare budget requests, maintain the maintenance budget, and monitor expenditures. Determine requirements for spare parts, supplies, materials, equipment, and fuel; research pricing and specifications; and place orders as needed. Establish performance standards, conduct staff and safety meetings, instruct assigned personnel, and monitor work in progress. Address performance and operational issues, provide training support, and review the work of fleet maintenance personnel. Prepare reports related to equipment utilization and project status. Approve purchases of supplies and parts and maintain accurate maintenance records and reports. Operate fleet vehicles as required and serve as a backup shuttle or bus driver in emergency situations. Perform other related responsibilities as assigned. Minimum Requirements 2+ years of recent, relevant, and verifiable fleet maintenance supervision experience Clean Motor Vehicle Record, with no major traffic violations or preventable accidents in the last 3 years. Must meet all DOT and FMCSA requirements. Working knowledge of equipment mechanic practices, heavy automotive equipment, gasoline and diesel engines, workplace safety, and standard maintenance procedures. Knowledge of equipment purchasing, inventory management, maintenance recordkeeping, and basic budgeting and fiscal practices. Ability to plan and assign mechanic work, develop and maintain a comprehensive fleet maintenance program, diagnose and repair heavy automotive equipment, review equipment specifications, and maintain accurate records and reports. Preferred: Class B CDL with passenger and school bus endorsements.
