Class B CDL Driver

Class A or B Driver A person hired to drive commercial vehicles for Cason Companies, Incorporated must possess the following characteristics and skills: Class A VALID Commercial Driver’s License Current Medical Certificate Excellent driving skills and clean driving record At least 21 years of age with a minimum of two years commercial driving experience A team spirit and professional demeanor Good physical condition in order to safely handle all aspects of driving Be able to routinely perform the following: 1. Load and off load materials 2. Secure loads with straps 3. Screening and un-screening flatbeds 4. Transport materials securely and safely in a timely manner 5. Operate forklift 6. Daily vehicle inspections Responsibilities include the following: Complete required paperwork connected with conveyance of materials and vehicle inspections Follow Federal Motor Carrier / DMV/ DOT safety rules and ensure compliance by co-workers and by-standers Drive to and from job sites, supplier yards, Cason Builders Supply and Carolina Mulch Plus offices Exhibit excellent customer/ supplier / co-worker relations skills Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections Contribute to the most efficient use of on-the-clock time by working with Dispatcher to ensure timely deliveries Alert employer of problems as they arise, including stockyard needs and equipment malfunctions Perform miscellaneous tasks as directed by employer Ensure vehicles are kept clean at all times - exterior and interior Promptly request vehicle maintenance by Corporate Garage / Shop Mechanics Fueling vehicles Immediately report all accidents or damage to vehicles to the supervisor &/or owner Keep records, including receipts for vehicle maintenance Maintain travel log and work hours Respect equipment and company property Note: this position involves more than driving Cason vehicles. Drivers perform physical work in variable weather conditions when loading, unloading, and securing your loads for transport.
