Class A Yard Driver Company: Penske Logistics Location: Houston, TX Pay: $24.00–$30.00 per hour Job Type: Full-Time Workplace: On-site Job Summary Penske Logistics is seeking a reliable and safety-focused Class A Yard Driver to move trailers and equipment safely and efficiently within a designated facility or yard. This position supports daily transportation and warehouse operations while maintaining a strong focus on safety, equipment handling, and on-time movement. Responsibilities Safely move trailers between designated yard locations and dock areas. Perform yard checks and position trailers for loading and unloading. Connect and disconnect trailers as required. Inspect vehicles and equipment before and after use. Maintain accurate yard movement and equipment records. Communicate with dispatch, warehouse, and operations teams. Follow all company, DOT, and facility safety procedures. Keep assigned equipment and work areas clean and organized. Report equipment issues, damage, or safety concerns promptly. Support efficient trailer flow during busy operating periods. Requirements Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). Safe driving record and strong commitment to workplace safety. Previous yard hostler, shuttle, or commercial driving experience preferred. Ability to safely operate tractor-trailer equipment. Good communication and teamwork skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced distribution environment. Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends when required.
