class A tractor trailer driver for Scrap Metal Co

Overview Join Scrap Metal Co. as a Class A Tractor-Trailer Driver and keep freight moving safely and reliably. You’ll operate commercial trucks on local routes and over-the-road (OTR) driving routes, using GPS navigation to plan and follow deliveries. This role involves handling scrap metal and may include other cargo and trailer types based on operational needs. Duties Drive tractor-trailers safely, including vehicles with manual transmissions, and follow assigned route plans. Load and unload freight; handle logistics cargo and manual handling tasks using safe procedures. Complete delivery driving and route driving, including automobile transportation when assigned. Operate equipment such as flatbed, tanker, or refrigerated trailers when assigned and qualified. Your impact: Careful driving and cargo handling help protect the public and ensure customers receive freight safely and on schedule. Experience Required: Class A commercial driving experience and a valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) appropriate for the assigned vehicle and cargo. Working knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations, plus hazardous materials regulations when applicable. Ability to follow safe practices for truck loading and unloading, dangerous goods, and hazmat (hazardous materials) when assigned and properly endorsed. Preferred: Delivery driver experience, freight handling, and experience with commercial truck driving, truck driving, or OTR routes. Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, GPS navigation, and automobile transportation is a plus.
