S & J Sheet Metal SupplyJob Overview Join our dynamic team as a Class A Delivery Driver and take charge of delivering freight efficiently and safely across designated routes. This energetic role offers the opportunity to operate a tractor-trailer, ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to all safety and regulatory standards. As a key player in our logistics network, you’ll be responsible for transporting goods, managing cargo, and providing exceptional service to our customers. Duties Safely operate tractor-trailers, including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, and tankers, on over-the-road (OTR) driving routes while complying with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations. Plan and follow efficient routes using GPS navigation systems to ensure on-time deliveries across multiple locations. Load and unload freight manually or with appropriate equipment, handling logistics cargo with precision and care. Transport hazardous materials (hazmat) and dangerous goods following hazardous materials regulations, ensuring safety at all times. Manage automobile transportation when required, securing vehicles properly for transit. Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck and trailer to identify maintenance needs or safety issues. Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, cargo manifests, inspection reports, and compliance logs in accordance with FMCSA regulations. Requirements Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with clean driving record. Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including delivery driving on route driving schedules. Familiarity with manual transmission trucks and manual handling procedures for cargo management. Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT compliance, hazardous materials regulations, and safety protocols for truck loading/unloading. Experience with refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or tractor-trailers preferred but not mandatory; training provided if needed. Ability to operate GPS navigation systems effectively for route planning. Strong physical stamina for manual handling tasks and long hours on the road.
