Class A CDL Truck Driver – Manual Transmission / Port Drayage

Job Summary We are seeking a reliable, safety-conscious Class A CDL Truck Driver to support our transportation and logistics operations. The ideal candidate will have experience operating commercial trucks with manual transmissions, hold a valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card, and be comfortable hauling freight using 53-foot dry van trailers. Experience with drayage operations at the Los Angeles/Long Beach ports is highly preferred. Candidates with experience at LAX cargo facilities and Container Freight Stations (CFS) are also encouraged to apply. Key Responsibilities Safely operate Class A commercial trucks with manual transmissions. Transport freight using 53-foot dry van trailers. Perform container drayage and other transportation-related duties as assigned. Complete all required pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck and trailer. Ensure vehicles are operated safely and comply with applicable DOT regulations and company safety policies. Verify shipping documents, delivery paperwork, and load information as required. Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, terminal personnel, and warehouse staff. Arrive on time for scheduled pickups and deliveries and maintain professional communication regarding delays or operational issues. Report vehicle defects, maintenance concerns, accidents, and safety issues promptly. Maintain accurate records of driving activities, inspections, and deliveries. Follow all applicable traffic laws, port regulations, and facility-specific procedures. Required Qualifications Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). Ability to safely operate a commercial truck with a manual transmission. Current and valid TWIC card. Ability to operate and maneuver a truck pulling a 53-foot dry van trailer. Knowledge of commercial vehicle safety requirements and pre-trip/post-trip inspection procedures. Dependable attendance, punctuality, and a strong commitment to safety. Ability to communicate professionally with dispatch, customers, and facility personnel. Preferred Qualifications Previous drayage experience at the Port of Los Angeles and/or Port of Long Beach. Previous trucking or freight-handling experience at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). Previous experience picking up or delivering freight at Container Freight Stations (CFS). Familiarity with port terminals, container pickup and return procedures, and freight documentation. Knowledge of local Southern California transportation routes and logistics operations.
