Albany Box Company Tangent, Oregon Join a Growing Oregon Manufacturer Albany Box Company is a locally owned packaging manufacturer that has been serving customers throughout the Pacific Northwest for over 25 years. We design and manufacture custom shipping crates, industrial packaging, and protective solutions for customers in a variety of industries. As our company continues to grow, we are looking to add dependable, safety-minded individuals to our Wood Shop team. This is an entry-level position with opportunities to learn valuable woodworking, manufacturing, and production skills. We are willing to train the right candidate, but applicants should have basic mechanical aptitude and the ability to work accurately with measurements, shop drawings, and production instructions. Position Summary Crate Builders manufacture custom wood shipping crates and industrial packaging products using lumber, plywood, hand tools, and production equipment. Team members work both independently and with others to build high-quality products that meet customer specifications and quality standards. Responsibilities Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles in compliance with all DOT regulations and company policies Deliver packaging products to customers throughout Oregon and the Pacific Northwest using established local and regional routes Load, secure, transport, and unload freight safely and efficiently Perform pre-trip, post-trip, and daily vehicle inspections Maintain accurate driver logs, delivery paperwork, and required transportation records Verify shipments and ensure delivered products match customer orders Operate a variety of equipment including dry vans, flatbeds, curtain-side trailers, lift-gate trailers, and box trucks Provide professional, courteous, and responsive customer service at delivery locations Communicate effectively with dispatch, sales, production, and warehouse personnel regarding delivery schedules and customer needs Follow all safety procedures related to driving, cargo securement, material handling, and lifting Assist with warehouse, loading, staging, and other operational duties when needed Maintain clean, organized, and safe vehicles and work areas Represent Albany Box Company in a professional manner at all times Qualifications Required High school diploma or equivalent Valid Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL) Current DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate (Medical Card) Acceptable driving record and ability to meet company insurance requirements Ability to safely operate commercial vehicles and trailers Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis Ability to load, unload, and secure freight safely Strong customer service and communication skills Dependable attendance and punctuality Ability to work independently and manage time effectively Commitment to safe work practices and regulatory compliance Preferred Previous Class A CDL driving experience Experience operating flatbeds, curtain-side trailers, dry vans, lift-gate equipment, or box trucks Forklift certification or experience Experience with cargo securement and load planning Familiarity with Oregon and Pacific Northwest delivery routes Experience delivering to industrial, manufacturing, or commercial customers What We're Looking For The most successful drivers at Albany Box Company are: Safety focused Reliable and dependable Professional and courteous Customer service oriented Self-motivated and organized Detail oriented Team players who communicate well Comfortable working independently Committed to representing the company positively Willing to help where needed and contribute to the success of the team Benefits Eligible employees enjoy a competitive benefits package including: Medical insurance Dental insurance Vision insurance 401(k) with employer match Paid Time Off (PTO) Vacation time Opportunities for advancement and skill development $30.00/hr starting wage $31.00/hr after completion of 90 days Up to $32.50/hr after completion of training A…
