In this energetic role, you will operate tractor-trailers equipped with refrigerated trailers to transport temperature-sensitive freight across over-the-road (OTR) routes. Your expertise in commercial truck driving, combined with your commitment to safety and efficiency, will ensure timely deliveries while adhering to all DOT (Department of Transportation), FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration), and hazardous materials regulations. Responsibilities Safely operate tractor-trailers with refrigerated trailers on OTR routes, ensuring compliance with all DOT and FMCSA regulations. Navigate using GPS systems to optimize delivery routes and meet delivery schedules efficiently. Load and unload freight, including handling logistics cargo with care to prevent damage, especially for temperature-sensitive or hazardous goods. Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, including checking refrigeration units, load securement, and overall truck condition. Deliver freight accurately to designated locations, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to delivery protocols. Manage manual handling tasks associated with truck loading/unloading and cargo transfer while maintaining safety standards. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery status, route changes, or any issues encountered during transit. Requirements Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving record. Proven experience operating refrigerated trailers and managing freight transportation over long distances. Knowledge of GPS navigation systems and route planning for efficient OTR driving routes. Familiarity with handling hazardous materials (Hazmat) and understanding related regulations for dangerous goods transportation. Ability to perform manual handling tasks related to truck loading/unloading safely and efficiently. Experience in delivery driving, freight management, and logistics cargo handling within a trucking environment. Strong understanding of DOT regulations, FMCSA guidelines, hazardous materials regulations, and safety protocols for commercial trucking.
