Pay & Settlements
• 71% of line haul
• 100% of the fuel surcharge paid to the owner operator

Operating Area
Trailer Transit moves customer trailers throughout the lower 48 states and Canada. This is an OTR operation. Trailer Transit does not regularly offer local, regional or dedicated routes. Owner operators should be comfortable operating nationwide and taking a variety of power-only loads. There is no forced dispatch.
Minimum Qualifications
• Be at least 23 years old
• Hold a valid Class A CDL
• Have at least 2 years of over-the-road tractor-trailer driving experience
• Own your own tandem-axle sleeper tractor
• Be a U.S. resident
• Be able to operate without visa sponsorship
• Have a tractor in good physical and mechanical condition
• Be able to pass a DOT annual tractor inspection before orientation in Porter, Indiana
• Meet DOT physical and drug-testing requirements
• Be registered with the FMCSA Clearinghouse
• Be willing to use Trailer Transit's required ELD system
• Be able to operate professionally throughout Trailer Transit's OTR network
Trailer Transit does not have a specific tractor model-year requirement, but the tractor must meet its equipment, inspection and compliance standards.
Equipment Preferences
A sliding fifth wheel with a long slide is highly recommended. A tanker endorsement is also highly recommended but is not required.
