Job Title: Class A CDL Licensed Reefer Truck Driver Job Overview The role of the CDL-A Local Reefer Truck Driver involves operating a company tractor and 53-foot refrigerated trailer hauling chilled, temperature-sensitive food freight to grocery distribution centers within the Texas region and picking up materials from our local food vendors. Routes include driving from San Antonio to Houston, Temple, or South Texas, and returning to San Antonio the same day. Responsibilities entail assisting with all transportation-related duties including dock appointments, temperature checks, and occasional multi-stop deliveries. This role requires a skilled and highly dependable company driver with an excellent driving record, a keen sense of direction, and superb organizational and time management skills. Job Details Job Type: Full-time Position Type: Direct Company Driver Schedule : 4:00 a.m. shift working 4- 5 days per week Tuesday – Saturday (off Sundays and Mondays) Responsibilities & Duties Performing yard truck and trailer inspections Utilizing internal applications used for real-time communication. Submitting videos and photos for inspections and ensuring consistent communication Completing pre-trip inspections. Responsible for safely operating equipment. Delivering products to our customers’ distribution centers and picking up products from our vendor community in a safe, professional, and timely manner. Ensure accuracy for all shipments and inventory transactions. Drivers pick their orders, confirm counts, and load their own trucks. Manage and maintain proper inventory workflow following FIFO procedures. Follow all OSHA requirements and PPS Safety policies and procedures. Ensure compliance with all GMP requirements across all facilities. Coordinate activities with other departments as needed. Physical Requirements/Work Environment Sit for extended periods of time in a truck tractor. Climb up to tractor with 3-point step. Manually cranks landing gear up from trailer so it will not hit the ground. Ability to maneuver truck through parking lots and back up safely into smaller delivery docks. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Regularly use hands to handle or feel and ability to communicate, listen/hear. The employee is frequently required to reach, grasp, squeeze, using wrist flexion and extension with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Required Qualifications Commercial driving experience; Class A CDL License: 3 years minimum (Required) Driver Safety & Compliance: Must have clean MVR for the last 3 years. No DUIs/DWIs or Reckless Driving in the past 3 years No License suspensions, revocation, or cancellation of driving privilege because of a moving violation within the past 3 years Minimum 3 years' experience with Day Cabs, automatic transmission, 53’ refrigerated trailers, 26 refrigerated box truck, and occasionally a 40’ End Dump Food Safety experience Electric Pallet jack experience is required. Forklift certification is a plus. High School Diploma or G.E.D Certificate Pay & Compensation Breakdown Pay is hourly, with overtime for eligible hours worked beyond 40 in a workweek. Actual weekly gross depends on paid hours, dispatch volume, and qualifying overtime.
