Responsibilities Safely operate Class A commercial tractor-trailers with flatbed configurations across OTR routes, ensuring compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations Load and unload freight efficiently, utilizing manual handling techniques and proper equipment to secure cargo such as freight, hazardous materials, general oil field equipment. Navigate using GPS systems to optimize routes and meet delivery schedules while maintaining safety standards Transport various types of freight including freight requiring special handling like dangerous goods or hazardous materials, adhering strictly to hazardous materials regulations Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections on trucks and trailers, ensuring all equipment is in optimal condition for safe operation Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, cargo details, and delivery documentation in compliance with FMCSA regulations Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients to coordinate delivery times and resolve any logistical issues promptly Skills Proven experience with truck driving, including flatbed, tanker, refrigerated trailers, or other specialized configurations Strong knowledge of FMCSA and DOT regulations governing commercial trucking and hazardous materials transportation Skilled in route planning using GPS navigation tools for efficient delivery scheduling Ability to handle manual loading/unloading processes safely and efficiently Familiarity with logistics cargo handling procedures for freight, dangerous goods, or specialty loads Experience with manual transmission trucks and tractor-trailers for versatile driving capabilities Excellent driving record demonstrating safe operation over long distances on over-the-road routes Knowledge of truck loading/unloading techniques and safety protocols for hazardous materials or fragile cargo Ability to comply with all safety standards related to DOT regulations and hazardous materials handling Strong communication skills to coordinate deliveries and ensure customer satisfaction Embark on a rewarding career where your driving skills make a difference!
