Duties Safely operate tractor-trailers on OTR routes, ensuring compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations Drive various types of freight including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and hazardous materials (Hazmat), following designated routes using GPS navigation systems Load and unload cargo with precision, utilizing manual handling techniques and equipment such as forklifts when necessary Manage logistics cargo handling efficiently to ensure proper securing, weight distribution, and safety standards are met during transit Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, checking for mechanical issues, safety hazards, and proper documentation Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and route details in compliance with legal requirements Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules, delays, or issues encountered on the road Qualifications Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with clean driving record and be able to operate and drive a manual transmission.. Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including over-the-road (OTR) routes and delivery driving reversing 53 foot van . Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, hazardous materials regulations, and DOT standards for safety and compliance Ability to operate manual transmission trucks confidently; experience with manual handling is a must!! Candidate will not be considered if they do not know how to drive a manual transmission. Familiarity with GPS navigation tools for route planning and real-time adjustments Experience handling various freight types such as refrigerated loads, hazardous goods, flatbed cargo, tankers, or specialty trucks like dump trucks or roll-off trucks is a plus Strong understanding of truck loading/unloading procedures and logistics cargo handling techniques Ability to work independently on long-haul routes while maintaining safety and professionalism at all times Embark on a rewarding career that keeps you moving forward!
