Class A CDL Driver – Local Trucking & Yard Operations Location: Oakland, CA Job Type: Full-Time Compensation: Hourly Pay + Mileage Pay Experience: No minimum driving experience required Job Description We are a locally operated transportation and logistics company seeking a reliable, motivated, and safety-conscious Class A CDL Driver to join our team in Los Angeles. This is a combination driving and yard operations position. The ideal candidate is dependable, hardworking, and willing to assist with various daily transportation and logistics operations. New CDL holders are encouraged to apply! Previous commercial driving experience is welcome but not required. All applicants must meet applicable licensing, safety, and qualification requirements. Key Responsibilities Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles for assigned pickups, deliveries, and transportation duties. Assist with general yard operations when not driving. Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections. Safely maneuver and park commercial vehicles in the yard. Complete delivery paperwork, inspection reports, and other required documentation. Communicate with dispatch and operations personnel regarding daily assignments. Follow DOT regulations, traffic laws, and company safety procedures. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment. Assist with additional operational tasks as assigned. Qualifications Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). No minimum commercial driving experience required. Acceptable driving record and ability to meet applicable driver qualification requirements. Ability to meet DOT medical certification requirements. Ability to complete required pre-employment drug testing. Willingness to perform both driving and yard duties. Strong work ethic, dependability, and attention to safety. Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team. Written and Verbal English proficiency. Proficiency in a second language, particularly Spanish , is a plus. Compensation Our drivers are compensated using a combination of: Hourly pay: For yard work and other qualifying non-driving duties. Mileage pay: For assigned driving routes. Additional compensation as required by applicable wage and hour laws. Specific rates and compensation details will be discussed during the hiring process. Why Join Our Team?
