Job Description The Driver is responsible for the safe transportation of hazardous and non-hazardous waste throughout southern California, from the generator facility to the end disposal facility. This position is an integral part of Haz Mat Trans belief in providing unequaled service excellence due to the daily interaction with the company’s customers requiring unparalleled customer service and communication skills. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Safely operate all equipment, including but not limited to tank trailers Pick up and transport waste safely according to all federal, state and local regulations Comply with all DOT regulations and company policies and procedures Complete all paperwork such as VIRs, logs, manifests, and work orders, in a timely, legible manner confirming accuracy Maintain frequent communication with operations staff alerting them to site concerns, and potential delays Provide excellent customer service Performs other, related duties as assigned. PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to work sitting or standing for prolonged or continuous periods of time; frequently reaching with higher mobility from floor to waste level; use of hands to finger, handle, or feel. Must understand and be able to implement safe and efficient freight handling and lifting procedures. Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception. WORK ENVIRONMENT The work is typically performed outdoors in all kinds of weather conditions. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Assist in loading and unloading trailer Complete all paperwork and forms as required by company policies and DOT regulations Drive a CMV up to legal limits allowed (as regulated by DOT) and may require weekend work. Responsible for the safe operation of the truck including pre-trip and post-trip inspections Communicate professionally with customers and report any customer issues / complaints to appropriate internal contacts Ensure truck cab and body are clean Maintain compliance with all applicable company and governmental regulations JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to get in and out of the truck repeatedly throughout the workday Valid Class A CDL with airbrakes endorsement Two (3) years of experience preferred within the past two (3) years in a CMV (Commercial Motor Vehicle) with a GVWR of over 26,001 pounds Experience with hydraulic systems Experience with a manual transmission Must be 25 years of age or older (per DOT requirements) Must be able to read and write English (per DOT requirements) Successfully pass pre-employment background investigation, drug screen, motor vehicle records check, DOT physical and human performance examination High school diploma or GED preferred Job Type: Full-time Required experience: Valid Class A CDL: 3 years Required license or certification: Class A CDL Drivers License Pay: $26.00 - $30.00 per hour Benefits: 401(k) Dental insurance Health insurance Vision insurance Application Question(s): Age 25 or older and a minimum of 3 years of recent Class A CDL driving experience 10-Speed Manual Experience Required Work Location: In person
