Class A CDL Driver

Position Summary: The CDL Driver will be responsible for transporting lumber and other building materials from our yard to various customer locations. This role requires a professional, safety-conscious individual with excellent driving skills and a commitment to customer service. This role specifically will be transferring material from our Paducah yard to other Cole Lumber locations knows as our "Transfer truck". Position Responsibilities: · Safely operate and drive company trucks to deliver lumber and building materials to residential and commercial job sites. · Load and unload lumber and other building materials using appropriate equipment, such as forklifts or Moffitt trucks. · Verify delivery orders against invoices. · Unload materials at delivery site. · Ensure that loads are properly secured to prevent damage or shifting during transit. · Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any maintenance issues or safety concerns. · Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including delivery logs, receipts, and any discrepancies. · Communicate effectively with customers to confirm delivery details and provide exceptional service. · Adhere to all traffic laws, DOT regulations, and company safety policies. · Assist with yard/store duties as needed, including inventory management and order preparation. Position Qualifications: · Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving record. · Minimum of 1 year of experience as a CDL driver, preferably in the lumber or building materials industry. · Ability to operate manual and automatic transmission vehicles. · Experience with loading and securing lumber and building materials is highly preferred. · Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and safety standards. · Excellent customer service and communication skills. · Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. · Physical ability to lift and carry heavy materials (up to 75 lbs.) and perform tasks that involve frequent bending, stretching, and climbing.
