In this position, you'll be responsible for safely operating tractor-trailers across various routes, including over-the-road (OTR) journeys, while ensuring timely and secure delivery of freight. Your expertise in handling refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and hazardous materials will be essential to maintaining our high standards of safety and service. This role offers the opportunity to work with a dedicated team committed to excellence in commercial truck driving and logistics cargo handling. Responsibilities Safely operate Class A commercial trucks, including tractor-trailers with manual transmissions, across diverse routes and terrains. Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) standards. Load and unload freight using manual handling techniques, ensuring proper cargo securing for safe transport. Navigate efficiently using GPS systems to meet delivery schedules while adhering to route driving best practices. Transport various types of freight, including refrigerated goods, hazardous materials (hazmat), dangerous goods, flatbed loads, and tanker shipments, following all hazardous materials regulations. Deliver freight accurately to designated locations, managing delivery driver responsibilities with professionalism and attention to detail. Maintain detailed logs of driving hours, cargo documentation, and delivery records in compliance with DOT regulations. Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding route updates, delivery status, and any issues encountered during transit. Qualifications Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving record. Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including route driving and delivery driving. Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and hazardous materials transportation. Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) rules, and hazardous materials regulations. Ability to operate manual transmission trucks confidently and handle truck loading/unloading processes. Strong understanding of logistics cargo handling procedures for various freight types. Excellent navigation skills utilizing GPS navigation systems for efficient route planning. Physical ability to perform manual handling tasks required for load & unload activities.
