Class A CDL Car Hauler Driver — Home Daily

1to1 Transport is accepting applications for an upcoming Class A CDL driver position based in Northeast Ohio. We are a small owner-operated vehicle transportation company looking for someone who can eventually take responsibility for a late-model Ford F-550 and 53-foot open auto transport trailer . This is not an over-the-road position. The majority of our work is regional, and the driver will normally be home every night . We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, takes care of equipment, communicates professionally with customers, and can work independently without constant supervision. Schedule Monday–Friday Five-day workweek Home daily Optional weekend work available Regional routes primarily throughout Ohio, Pennsylvania and surrounding areas Start and finish times will vary depending on daily routes Compensation $1,400–$1,800 per week, based on experience and demonstrated ability. Starting compensation will depend on: CDL driving experience Auto-hauling experience Driving and safety record Experience operating long truck/trailer combinations Mechanical aptitude Ability to load, secure and transport vehicles independently Exceptional candidates with significant auto-transport experience may qualify toward the upper end of the range. The long-term goal is to develop the right driver into a permanent position. After one year of strong performance and dependable service , additional performance/profit-sharing compensation may become available. Responsibilities Pick up and deliver vehicles at dealerships, auctions, businesses and customer locations Safely load and unload vehicles Properly secure vehicles for transport Complete vehicle inspections and photographs Communicate professionally with customers and dispatch Perform pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspections Recognize mechanical or equipment problems before they become larger problems Maintain truck and trailer cleanliness and condition Follow DOT/FMCSA requirements and company safety procedures Protect customer vehicles from avoidable damage Qualifications Valid Class A CDL CDL must permit operation of the truck/trailer combination being used Current DOT medical certification Acceptable motor vehicle record Ability to pass DOT-required drug/alcohol screening Comfortable backing and maneuvering a long combination vehicle Basic mechanical aptitude Reliable transportation to/from our operating location Dependable attendance and communication Able to work independently Professional attitude around customers Willingness to take care of company equipment as if it were your own Previous auto-hauling experience is preferred but not required. We are willing to train the right CDL driver. A strong driving record, mechanical common sense, reliability and good judgment are more important than simply having years of car-hauling experience.
