Key Responsibilities Safely operate assigned vehicles and equipment, including pick-up trucks and other commercial vehicles. Complete assigned waste collection routes and service requirements efficiently and professionally. Perform daily vehicle inspections and report maintenance or repair requirements to your supervisor. Maintain vehicles and equipment in a clean, safe, and secure condition. Complete daily logs, work orders, inspection forms, maintenance records, and incident reports accurately and on time. Follow dispatch instructions, operational procedures, and assigned schedules. Identify, report, and take appropriate action to address potential workplace hazards. Follow all company safety policies and procedures, with a focus on preventing incidents, injuries, and property damage. Communicate effectively with supervisors, dispatch, customers, and team members. Work independently while maintaining regular communication with the Operations Manager. Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, service delivery, and workplace safety. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications & Requirements Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence with Air Brake (Q) Endorsement is required. Clean and satisfactory driver's abstract. High school diploma or GED equivalent. 2–4 years of commercial driving or truck operating experience preferred. Previous waste collection or waste management experience is an asset. General mechanical aptitude and knowledge of commercial vehicles and equipment. Basic computer skills and ability to complete electronic documentation. Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills. Ability to work independently and follow instructions. Good backing, maneuvering, and vehicle spotting skills. Physical & Working Conditions Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull materials weighing up to 50 lbs. Ability to sit for extended periods and perform repetitive physical movements. Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather and site conditions. Shifts may occasionally be extended to ensure assigned work is completed. Must meet company fitness-for-work requirements. Pre-Employment Requirements Successful completion of pre-access drug and alcohol testing is mandatory. Selected candidates must successfully complete a background check.
