Class 1A Rural MB P&D Route Driver & Merchandiser

George Wakefield Foods Inc. is a distributor of fresh and frozen food products. Our diverse product lines contain everything from fruit juice, milk, and cheese, to our main product line of ice cream. We have operations spanning from Saskatchewan to Ontario, with our head office located in Winnipeg, MB. This route operates Monday-Friday - Weekends off Title: Class 1A Manitoba Rural Route Driver/ Merchandiser Address: B-1225 Plessis Road, Winnipeg Duties & Responsibilities: Multi-Drop route hauling fresh/frozen (10-20 deliveries per 2 cycle day [overnighter]) Route is based out of Winnipeg and doing out of town 2x/week [overnight route]; Leave MON return TUE, leave THU return FRI. Operate Power jack Secure fresh and frozen products and materials securely in areas as needed according to POD’S, transport to delivery locations, collect signatures and payments Delivering customer orders by hand bombing and/or pallet drops Guarantee product is maintained at required temperatures with basic knowledge of refrigeration systems Perform daily maintenance checks and operating ELDs via GeoTab Drive Keep vehicles clean inside and out Enter order information on computerized hand-held device Adhere to all SOPs and company policies on an ongoing bases Handle customer inquiries and ensure positive customer interactions on daily bases Perform other duties as assigned Employment Requirements: Class 1A license Experience with 53 foot trailers Must provide a clean driving abstract Must be physically fit – able to handle products weighing up to 50 lbs Will need to pass a criminal record check Experience with reefer trailers Must have a minimum of 2 years Class 1A experience in Canada Good English communication skills, both verbal and written Must have a smart phone Authorized to work in Canada We appreciate all applications but only those being considered for an interview will be contacted.
