We offer accommodations, fly in and out, daily travel and food allowance in a beautiful and welcoming northern B.C. community. As a Portland Canal Transportation Limited Partnership driver, you will be hauling copper ore using B-train trailers for our Red Chris Copper Ore Haul and/or our Pretium Bruce Jack Copper Ore Haul. You will travel on various highways and high mountain mining roads in and around the Stewart area. For more career opportunities, please visit arrowcareers.ca To read more about our Stewart Division, please visit stewart.arrow.ca Oversee cargo handling and secure loads, including equipment preparation, application of safe practices, compliance with applicable Acts and Regulations. Perform pre and post and en route trip inspections on equipment operated, ensuring safety, roadworthiness and regulatory compliance. Comply with applicable legislation including safe operation, load securement, driver's hours of service, occupational health and safety, transportation of dangerous goods, and weights and dimensions. Comply with all rules and regulations, protocols and established metrics. Efficiently maneuver truck and trailer(s) into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading crew as needed; check that vehicle position is correct and any special loading equipment is properly positioned. May operate loading equipment as per role requirements. Check mobile equipment (i.e. frontend loaders) to ensure that mechanical and safety equipment is in good working order. Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles to the relevant supervisor. Report all safety hazards or conditions encountered at load, unload, yard and shop sites.
