Your enthusiasm and dedication will play a crucial role in shaping a sustainable and impactful future. We are currently hiring for a Class 1 Driver working out of our Edmonton, Alberta location. This position involves the operation of a commercial motor vehicle, handling and transporting hazardous waste in an environmentally responsible manger. This position does NOT involve travel across the Canadian/US border. Duties and Responsibilities: · Must be willing to work out of town (Trips between AB, BC, MB & Ontario) on an as needed basis. · Identify, package, label hazardous and non-hazardous materials for transport · Accurately complete manifests, bills of lading and associated paperwork · Ensure loads are secure · Participate in all necessary training to carry out all duties effectively and properly · Follow and comply with all environmental health and safety procedures, regulations, legislation, industry standards and corporate policies · Adhere to vehicle weight limits and ensure proper utilization of Aevitas equipment · Ensure proper placarding of vehicles · Accurately complete and maintain daily logs, daily vehicle inspections, trip reports, expense reports and other reports as required · Comply with legal requirements and internal company policies and procedures · Ensure equipment is mechanically sound and in good working order at all times · Wear personal protective equipment such as respirator, safety goggles, Tyvek coveralls, safety gloves, hard hat and safety boots as necessary · Maintain daily housekeeping of work area · Maintain communication with management, sales and dispatch · Maintain a courteous and professional attitude towards customers and other employees · Perform additional duties as assigned Work Environment: · Requires pushing, pulling, bending, twisting and lifting. · Work outdoors and/or driving a video/GPS monitored vehicle. · Will be exposed to a physical environment, which involves dirt, odors, noise and weather extremes Qualifications: · High School Graduate or Grade 12 equivalent · Must be at least twenty-five (25) years of age · Valid Class 1 Alberta Driver’s License · Minimum three (3) years recent experience operating a commercial motor vehicle under a Class 1 license · Knowledge of waste management and transportation of dangerous goods legislation an asset · Legally able to work in Canada · Successfully complete a cri…
