Overview As a Class 1 Driver with Prime Movers, you’ll do much more than drive. You’ll transport specialized equipment and machinery using a variety of truck and trailer configurations and work directly alongside our field crews as part of the project execution team. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys challenging work, changing job sites, and being involved in industrial moving projects from start to finish. We are looking for individuals who are reliable, punctual, take pride in their work, and are willing to learn and grow in the industrial moving industry. You must be experienced with one or more of the areas below: Class 1 Operation | Machinery Moving | Demolition | Forklift Operation | Jack & Roll | Rigging and Material Handling | Gantries | Knuckle Boom As a key team member at Prime Movers, you’ll operate heavy-duty commercial vehicles with precision, professionalism, and enthusiasm. What You'll Do · Safely operate Class 1 commercial trucks to transport industrial equipment, machinery, materials, and freight to customer sites throughout Alberta and beyond. · Haul a variety of trailer configurations, including tilt-deck, RGN/lowboy, flat deck, curtain-side, and enclosed van trailers. · Work alongside Prime Movers’ field crews as an active member of the project execution team, assisting with industrial equipment moves, rigging, loading, unloading, positioning, and other site activities as required. · Assist with the safe loading, securement, transportation, and unloading of heavy machinery and industrial equipment. · Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks and trailers, including brakes, lights, tires, trailer components, and load securement. · Load and unload equipment using forklifts and other material-handling equipment when trained and authorized to do so. · Properly secure loads in accordance with applicable regulations and company requirements. · Communicate effectively with supervisors, field crews, customers, and other site personnel to coordinate equipment movements and deliveries. · Maintain accurate driver logs, inspection reports, delivery documentation, and other required paperwork. · Perform basic troubleshooting and minor vehicle-related tasks when required to minimize downtime. · Work safely in changing industrial and construction environments while following site-specific procedures, hazard assessments, and customer requirements. What You Bring Valid Class 1 driver’s licence Clean Driver’s Abstract Claims Experience Letter (for Class 1 licence) - proven experience in commercial driving and freight transportation is required Certification in forklift operation is an asset Knuckle boom experience is an asset Knowledge of heavy equipment operation and safety protocols Ability to perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting on trucks Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for documentation and inspections Physical ability to lift heavy loads and perform manual tasks as required What We Offer A strong safety-first culture Career growth opportunities - we promote from within!
