Class 1 Driver and Crane Operator

Crown Building Supplies AB is hiring a skilled and safety-focused Class 1 Driver and Crane Operator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely transporting construction materials to various sites in Calgary and the surrounding area. The ideal candidate holds a valid Alberta Class 1 Driver’s License and a recognized Journeyman / Red Seal Crane certification , combining a flawless driving record. Key Responsibilities Driving & Transport: Safely operate Class 1 truck to transport product to and from sites in compliance with Alberta transportation regulations. Crane & Lifting Operations: Set up, rig, and operate mobile cranes/booms to lift, move, and position heavy loads safely and efficiently. Safety & Compliance: Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and lifting equipment; accurately complete logbooks, e-logs, and hazard assessments. Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and minor adjustments to ensuring vehicle and equipment is kept in top operational condition. Site Collaboration: Work closely with swampers, dispatch, and site supervisors to execute lift plans safely and on schedule. Qualifications & Requirements Licence: Valid Alberta Class 1 Driver’s Licence with a clean commercial abstract (current within 30 days). Certification: Alberta Journeyperson or Red Seal Crane and Hoisting Equipment Operator trade certificate (or registered apprentice status). Experience: Minimum of 2 years of active Class 1 commercial driving and crane operation. Safety Tickets (asset): Valid safety certifications including CSTS-20, Common Safety Orientation (CSO), Standard First Aid, and H2S Alive. Physical Capability: Ability to work long hours outdoors in varying Alberta weather conditions, lift up to 50 lbs, be physically fit.
