Chemical Materials Inventory & Demand Planning Manager Location: Macon, GA Salary Range: $80,000 to $90,000 +bonus for well-qualified candidates. Relocation assistance may be available for well-qualified candidates. Employment Type: Full-Time (on-site) A leading industrial services organization supporting government and regulated-industrial operations is seeking an experienced Chemical Materials Inventory & Demand Planning Manager to oversee hazardous material inventory planning, supply chain performance, and customer support activities. This role combines demand forecasting, inventory management, compliance oversight, and customer-facing problem solving in a fast-paced operational environment. Key Responsibilities Manage inventory planning and forecasting to ensure material availability while minimizing excess inventory and waste. Lead a small team of logistics coordinators. Analyze usage patterns, stocking levels, and supply chain performance to optimize operational efficiency. Maintain hazardous material tracking records and ensure full lifecycle accountability from receipt through final disposition. Monitor warehouse receiving, storage, shipping, and inventory accuracy activities. Develop reporting and performance metrics including inventory turns, on-time delivery, fill rates, and demand trends. Partner with procurement, quality, technical, and customer teams to resolve material issues and identify alternative sources or products. Support sole-source documentation and technical product identification efforts. Conduct warehouse reviews and customer engagement activities to improve service levels and anticipate future requirements. Ensure compliance with applicable environmental, transportation, and hazardous material regulations. Assist with procedure development, process improvement initiatives, and employee training. Qualifications 5+ years of experience in hazardous materials management, chemical management, inventory control, or supply chain operations. Experience working within government, defense, industrial, manufacturing, or highly regulated environments. Strong background in inventory planning, forecasting, logistics analytics, and materials management systems. Knowledge of hazardous materials handling, storage, transportation, and environmental compliance requirements. Experience utilizing inventory tracking or hazardous materials management systems. Advanced analytical skills with the ability to interpret large data sets and identify trends. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Supply Chain ERP tools. Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field. Experience supporting government supply systems or defense-related logistics programs. Industry certifications related to hazardous materials, environmental compliance, transportation, or waste management. Additional Requirements U.S. Citizenship required. Ability to obtain and maintain government security and background screening requirements, including a financial history check. Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record. Ability to work within warehouse, manufacturing, and industrial environments. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and regularly walk operational facilities.
