Job Description The CHaRM Driver/Site Team Member at Black Earth Compost is an introductory position primarily tasked with collecting and delivering CHaRM materials to residential and commercial customers. This is a hands-on position and an integral part of our operations team. Daily tasks may include: driving CHaRM collection routes, supporting shipments and logistics for CHaRM, organizing storage containers, supporting the Food Scrap Collection and Composting teams (who also support you), and other physical labor tasks on site. As a customer-facing representative of our company, an ideal candidate will prioritize road safety, product quality, and customer experience every step of the way. We are looking for reliable, self-starting, problem-solving candidates who aren’t afraid to get their hands dirty and take on new challenges. Main Responsibilities: -Drive deliveries in company-provided box truck and dump trucks (all vehicles are non-CDL). -Complete all deliveries on daily routes assigned through our in-house Dispatching app. -Collect non-food scrap hard-to-recycle materials along designated routes as part of our CHaRM program. This job does NOT include collecting food scraps at all. That is done by different drivers. -Support logistics and customer service on site, CHaRM inventory, mailing, and shipping items, assisting/working the transfer station on days that it is open to residents (Thursdays and potentially Saturdays if desired), and on-site material recycling -Miscellaneous physical tasks, loading/unloading trucks, organizing pallets, hand-delivering bagged products, and other physical labor on site. -Communicate effectively with the manager and other team members. -Be a representative of our mission, maintaining company values and knowledge of our products and processes. Ideal Candidates: -Have a clean driving record and the ability to pass a background check. -Are comfortable driving a large vehicle in an urban environment (Experience not necessary; training provided). Isuzu V8 Gas Box Truck; height of 10ft8” and 14ft length -Can work up to 10 hours per day. Driving days will begin at 6:30-7 am. -Are available Monday through Friday, 7 a.m.- 5 p.m., with potential for weekend work. -Can work outside in all weather conditions -Have the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Candidates will be asked to perform tasks including raised bed installs, unloading bagged compost by hand, and other physical labor. -Are committed to arriving at work on time.
