Pharmacy Technician - Specialty/Home Infusion Pharmacy Location: Raleigh, NC Job Type: Full-Time (Monday-Friday: 9:00am-5:30p.m.) Department: Pharmacy Operations Reports To: Pharmacist-in-Charge Position Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and patient-focused Pharmacy Technician to join our growing specialty and home infusion pharmacy team in Raleigh, NC. The Pharmacy Technician plays a vital role in supporting pharmacists, coordinating medication fulfillment, managing inventory, and ensuring accurate preparation and delivery of specialty and infusion therapies. This position requires excellent organizational skills, a commitment to patient care, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced healthcare environment. The candidate MUST have experience in specialty pharmacy and/or home- infusion therapy pharmacy, and possess strong communication skills for working with patients, providers, nurses, and insurance representatives. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPharmacy Operations Process new and refill prescriptions accurately and efficiently. Enter prescription orders into the pharmacy management system. Verify patient demographic, insurance, and prescription information. Assist pharmacists with medication dispensing and order preparation. Prepare medication labels, packaging, and shipping documentation. Coordinate medication shipments and deliveries for home infusion patients. Specialty and Home Infusion Support Support pharmacists in managing specialty and infusion therapy prescriptions. Monitor prescription status and ensure timely medication delivery. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with regulatory requirements. Support therapy adherence programs and patient follow-up initiatives. Inventory and Purchasing Receive, inspect, and stock medications and supplies. Monitor inventory levels of medications, infusion supplies, and ancillary products. Assist with ordering and replenishment of medications and supplies. Track medication lot numbers, expiration dates, and product recalls. Maintain clean and organized storage areas according to pharmacy standards. Compliance and Quality Assurance Adhere to state and federal pharmacy regulations, HIPAA requirements, and company policies. Support quality assurance and accreditation activities. Maintain accurate records for prescription processing and inventory management. Participate in pharmacy audits and compliance reviews. Follow all safety procedures related to handling medications and supplies. Required Qualifications Active North Carolina Pharmacy Technician Registration in good standing. High school diploma or GED. National Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB or ExCPT) REQUIRED. Minimum 1 year of specialty/home-infusion therapy pharmacy technician experience. Strong computer skills and experience using pharmacy management systems. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a healthcare team. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of infusion therapies, biologics, and specialty medications. Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) and pharmacy dispensing systems. Experience with CPR+ software Physical Requirements Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds. Manual dexterity required for handling medications, supplies, and computer equipment. Ability to perform repetitive tasks with a high degree of accuracy. Work Environment Specialty and home infusion pharmacy setting. Fast-paced healthcare environment requiring close attention to detail.
