Duties Prepare and dispense medications accurately using pharmacy software systems, ensuring adherence to state and federal pharmacy laws Assist pharmacists with medication inventory management, including stock replenishment and proper storage procedures Perform pharmaceutical calculations for medication dosages, IV infusions, and compounding medications with precision Conduct sterile IV admixture procedures following aseptic techniques and sterile compounding standards for safe medication preparation Enter patient data into pharmacy information systems while maintaining strict confidentiality of patient information Support patient service efforts by answering medication-related questions and providing clear instructions on medication use and administration Ensure compliance with pharmaceutical regulatory requirements by adhering to drug regulation guidelines and medical terminology standards Assist in the preparation of medications for acute care settings, including hospital pharmacy environments, utilizing pharmacy software efficiently Maintain accurate documentation of medication intake, drug regulation compliance, and inventory records in accordance with hospital policies Requirements Valid certification as a Pharmacy Technician from an accredited program; active state registration or licensure required Demonstrated knowledge of pharmaceutical calculations, drug regulation laws, and medical terminology Familiarity with pharmacy software systems and data entry processes for medication management Strong understanding of state healthcare regulations and federal pharmacy laws governing medication dispensing and patient safety Excellent customer service skills with a focus on patient care and communication clarity Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy Join the team at Metscript Pharmacy in Richmond , conveniently located inside a pediatric center, and make a meaningful difference in the health and well-being of our patients.
