Description The Central Supply Technician is responsible for the proper handling, storage, distribution, and inventory management of medical and rehabilitation supplies and equipment. This role maintains Brooks-owned and rented equipment, including specialty patient care items and patient beds, and ensures supplies are readily available to nursing units and other designated areas. The Central Supply Technician II also performs receiving, inventory replenishment, rental equipment management, and requisitioning functions to maintain appropriate inventory levels and support safe, efficient patient care. Responsibilities Pulls, prepares, and delivers supplies, equipment, and other requested items to designated areas. Maintains proper storage of general stores supplies and rotates inventory using the first-in, first-out (FIFO) method. Ensures equipment is cleaned, sanitized, inspected, and confirmed to be in proper working condition within 24 hours of receipt, in accordance with Infection Control Guidelines and Biomedical Equipment policies. Maintains accurate records and logs for rental equipment. Performs all functions associated with ordering, tracking, cleaning, and returning rental equipment, including rental beds and specialty equipment. Replenishes PAR levels at nursing units and other assigned stock locations. Performs periodic automatic replenishment of assigned locations. Replenishes missing or expired supplies from code and wound care carts as needed; verifies cart contents monthly for expiration dates and documents accordingly. Performs all receiving functions for stock and non-stock supplies for the assigned facility. Conducts regular requisitioning of supplies to maintain appropriate inventory levels. Participates in periodic physical inventories and inventory reconciliation activities. Maintains a clean and organized storeroom by removing debris, boxes, and trash from supply areas daily. Performs all duties in a safe, effective, and efficient manner that reduces hazards and risks, prevents accidents and injuries, and maintains safe conditions in accordance with established safety standards. May perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred. Minimum of one year of experience in a healthcare Central Supply, materials management, or storeroom/warehouse environment required; three years preferred. Equivalent education may be considered in lieu of experience. Demonstrated attention to detail and understanding of PAR levels and inventory management. Valid driver's license required. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time. Strong analytical, communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
