Rock County, WIPosition Summary and Job Duties Receives, stores, and distributes stocks of medical, office, or other supplies according to unit needs; maintains inventory by checking shelves and reordering standard items as required. Ensures proper handling of all related items. 80% - Serves as materials/purchasing liaison: 1. Receives shipments and verifies accuracy of medical supplies and medical equipment received for proper quality, description of specifications and condition. Records and reports discrepancies or damages. 2. Marks goods and materials for identification purposes. Stores equipment and supplies in proper locations. Arranges items on shelves according to established arrangement and maintains a catalog of items by location for easy accessibility. 3. Receives food service deliveries, and transports items to storerooms and coolers. 4. Considers cost control by maintaining pre-order work sheets for major suppliers, and ensures orders are meeting minimum freight charges. Ensure units/staff/residents have essential supplies: 1. Place orders with main supply vendors for: medical supplies, incontinence supplies, housekeeping supplies 2. Receives and processes internal requisitions for medical supplies and OTC medications. Fulfill and delivers stock to the requesting department. 3. Delivers incontinence products to resident rooms twice a week. 15% - Perform administrative duties as required: 1. Maintains an inventory control system, posts in/outgoing inventory to include medication, equipment, supplies, and related materials. 2. Inventories medical supplies and over the counter medications, assuring that supplies are used in order of expiration date. Removes outdated supplies from stock. 3. Maintains central supply records. Collects and prepares reports as directed. 4. Orders and maintains office supplies and forms used by Rock Haven. Coordinates the revision of forms between members of various departments and the print shop. 5. Processes orders for special items as needed. 6. Performs custodial work/sweeping to maintain neatness and cleanliness in the Medical supply, DME rooms, dock area, and incontinence room. 5% - Performs other duties as assigned. 1. Interacts with staff, residents, volunteers, visitors and representatives of other agencies. 2. Participate in required in-service education programs, fire and disaster drills. Success Factors (KSA's) Working knowledge of the procedures used to maintain a perpetual inventory system. Working knowledge of the procedures used in the effective operation of a supply room. Working knowledge of business English, spelling, correspondence forms, and arithmetic. Working knowledge of internet access, spreadsheet, and word processing programs. Ability to work with minimal direction and take initiative to follow projects through to completion. Ability to resolve conflicts with vendors arising from regular work operations. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with other departments, staff, and outside vendors. Ability to perform basic mathematics to include addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentage calculations. Ability to maintain an inventory of supplies and to prepare supply ordering forms. Ability to load and unload supplies and materials, and to lift objects of varying weights. Ability to establish and maintain effective public and working relations with vendors and administration. Job Requirements, Education, Training & Experience High school diploma or GED. Experience as a stock clerk or medical supplies clerk is preferred. Valid driver's license Proficiency in the use of Outlook, Word and Excel Ability to maintain prompt and consistent attendance Essential Job Functions (physical elements, equipment and working conditions) Physical elements: Ability to sit, stands, bends, and stoops for long periods of time.
