CDLA COMPANY DRIVER // CONTAINER DAILY WORK M - F (SAT / SUN OPTIONAL)

Compensation & Benefits Competitive Pay: [$27/hr - $30/hr usually 13+ daily hours M - F] Home Time: Daily home time with predictable, local/regional routes Job Responsibilities Freight Transport: Safe operation of a Class A commercial vehicle hauling intermodal containers and chassis. Terminal Navigation: Efficiently picking up and dropping off loads at local rail yards, ports, and customer facilities. Inspections: Conducting thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure equipment safety. Compliance: Maintaining accurate electronic logging device (ELD) logs and complying with all DOT regulations. Communication: Reporting any delays, mechanical issues, or accidents immediately to dispatch. Requirements & Qualifications License: Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL-A). Experience: Minimum of 2 years of verifiable tractor-trailer driving experience. Driving Record: Clean MVR with no major violations in the past 3 years. Endorsements: Tanker or Hazmat endorsements are a plus but not required. Screening: Must pass a DOT physical, background check, and pre-employment drug screening. Duties Safely operate tractor-trailers across over-the-road (OTR) routes, ensuring compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards. Load and unload freight using manual handling techniques, ensuring cargo integrity and safety during transit. Navigate using GPS systems to optimize routes, meet delivery deadlines, and adapt to traffic or road conditions. Transport various types of freight including refrigerated goods, hazardous materials (hazmat), dangerous goods, or specialized cargo such as automobile transportation or tanker loads. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections on trucks and trailers to verify vehicle safety and compliance with hazardous materials regulations. Load and unload trucks efficiently while maintaining proper documentation for logistics cargo handling. Communicate professionally with dispatchers, customers, and team members to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues promptly. Skills Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record; experience with manual transmission preferred. Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including route driving and delivery driving in diverse environments. Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT rules, hazardous materials regulations, and safety protocols related to truck loading/unloading. Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and other specialized equipment used in freight transportation. Strong navigation skills utilizing GPS navigation systems for efficient route planning. Ability to handle logistics cargo handling tasks safely and effectively under tight schedules.
