Position Summary Red Baron Transportation is seeking dependable and safety-focused CDL Yard Spotters to support operations in Crossett, AR. This position is responsible for the safe and efficient movement of trailers throughout the yard, ensuring equipment is properly staged and available to meet operational demands. The ideal candidate is safety-minded, reliable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced distribution environment. Key Responsibilities Safely move trailers between dock doors, staging areas, and designated parking locations. Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on yard equipment and trailers. Ensure trailers are properly secured, chocked, and sealed. Maintain accurate records of trailer locations and yard movements. Communicate effectively with warehouse and operations teams regarding trailer needs and priorities. Report equipment damage, mechanical issues, safety concerns, and operational delays. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe yard environment. Follow all company, customer, DOT, and safety policies and procedures. Assist with additional yard and operational duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred. Valid Class A CDL required. Current DOT Medical Card required. Must be registered and in compliance with the FMCSA Clearinghouse. Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen. Previous yard spotter, yard jockey, shuttle driver, or related CDL experience preferred. Strong commitment to workplace safety. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and perform the physical requirements of the position. Skills Safe trailer maneuvering and backing skills. Strong attention to detail and situational awareness. Effective communication and teamwork. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Basic inspection and recordkeeping abilities. PPE Requirements Steel-toe boots required. Safety vest required. Safety glasses required. Additional PPE provided by BWT Logistics as needed. Compensation and Benefits Starting pay: $22.00 per hour Health Benefits: Medical, dental, and vision coverage after 90 days. Time Off: Paid holidays and PTO available after 90 days.
