Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and experienced CDL Vac Truck Driver to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will operate specialized vacuum trucks to perform industrial and environmental services, including the safe removal and transportation of hazardous and non-hazardous materials. Your expertise in commercial truck driving, adherence to safety regulations, and ability to navigate diverse routes will ensure efficient service delivery. Responsibilities Operate CDL-equipped vacuum trucks for the collection, transportation, and disposal of various liquids, sludge, and hazardous materials in compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and hazardous materials regulations. Safely load and unload cargo using manual handling techniques and truck loading/unloading procedures while ensuring proper securing of loads such as tanker, flatbed, or refrigerated trailers. Navigate assigned routes using GPS navigation systems, including over-the-road (OTR) driving routes, ensuring timely deliveries across multiple locations. Maintain accurate logs of all trips, cargo details, and compliance documentation in accordance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations. Conduct routine inspections of the tractor-trailer units to ensure they meet safety standards and perform minor maintenance or report issues promptly. Follow all safety protocols related to hazardous materials handling, dangerous goods transportation, and truck driving best practices. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients to coordinate pickups and deliveries while maintaining a professional attitude at all times. Skills Proven experience operating commercial trucks such as tractor-trailers, tanker trucks, flatbeds, or refrigerated trailers in a delivery or logistics environment. Strong knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT regulations, hazardous materials regulations, and safety standards for truck driving. Skilled in GPS navigation systems for route planning and real-time adjustments during deliveries. Ability to manually handle cargo loads safely and efficiently during loading/unloading processes. Experience with freight transportation involving hazardous or dangerous goods requiring special handling procedures. Excellent driving skills with a clean CDL license that includes endorsements for tanker or Hazmat as applicable. Familiarity with manual transmission trucks and the operation of specialized vacuum equipment used in environmental services.
