CDL Truck Driver/Tack Truck Driver
Haskell Lemon ConstructionHaskell Lemon Group is seeking a dependable Tack Truck CDL Driver to join our road construction team. This position is responsible for safely operating a tack truck in support of asphalt paving operations. This is not a driving-only position. When the tack truck is not in use, the employee is expected to work alongside the road construction crew and assist with general labor duties. A valid Class A or Class B CDL is required. What You'll DoOperate the Tack Truck Safely operate a tack truck on active road construction and paving projects Apply asphalt emulsion ("tack") to roadway surfaces prior to paving to help the new asphalt properly bond to the existing surface Operate and monitor the truck's spray system to ensure appropriate and consistent application Perform required pre-trip and post-trip inspections Keep the truck, spray system, and related equipment clean and in proper working condition Identify and report equipment or maintenance concerns Follow all DOT requirements, Company safety policies, and jobsite procedures Work as Part of the Construction Crew When the tack truck is not being utilized, the driver will assist the road construction crew with duties that may include: Flagging and assisting with traffic control Sweeping and preparing roadway surfaces for paving Shoveling and performing other physical labor Moving and organizing tools, materials, and equipment Assisting equipment operators and other crew members as needed Performing jobsite cleanup Following instructions from supervisors Performing other construction-related duties based on project and crew needs What You'll Need Valid Class A or Class B CDL Acceptable driving record Ability to meet applicable DOT and Company requirements for a CDL driving position Tack truck, asphalt paving, or road construction experience preferred, but willingness to learn is important Ability and willingness to perform general construction labor in addition to driving Strong safety awareness and ability to work safely around moving vehicles and heavy equipment Dependable attendance and reliable transportation to assigned work locations Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a crew What to Expect This is a hands-on, outdoor road construction position . Employees should be prepared to work in varying weather conditions and around active paving operations, traffic, heavy equipment, asphalt materials, dust, and noise. Work schedules are based on paving and project needs and may include early mornings, nights, overtime, and weekends . The successful candidate will be someone who is comfortable operating the tack truck when needed and jumping in to help the paving crew when the truck is not in use.
