for completing assigned residential and commercial collection routes safely, efficiently, and professionally. This is a physically active driving position that requires excellent awareness of surroundings, safe operation in residential neighborhoods and commercial properties, and the ability to complete routes according to established schedules.Requirements Candidates should have:Valid CDL Class B or Class A driver's licenseExperience operating commercial trucksPrevious waste, sanitation, refuse, recycling, rear-loader, or side-loader experience strongly preferredAbility to operate an air-brake-equipped commercial vehicle without an air-brake restrictionValid DOT Medical Card, when requiredAcceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)Ability to safely maneuver a large commercial vehicle in residential neighborhoods, commercial properties, parking areas, and narrow streetsAbility to work early morning shifts and complete assigned routesReliable transportation to the reporting locationAbility to perform physical duties associated with waste collectionDependable attendance and punctualityAbility to follow DOT, company, and safety proceduresResponsibilities The CDL Truck Driver will:Operate rear-loader and/or side-loader waste collection trucksComplete assigned residential and commercial collection routesPick up trash, refuse, recycling, or other designated materials from assigned locationsSafely position the vehicle near residential carts, commercial containers, dumpsters, and collection areasOperate hydraulic and collection equipment according to manufacturer and company proceduresConduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspectionsReport mechanical problems, safety concerns, damaged containers, blocked collection points, or route issuesMaintain safe following distances and defensive-driving practicesMonitor pedestrians, parked vehicles, overhead obstacles, traffic, and other hazardsFollow assigned routes and communicate with dispatch or route supervisors as neededMaintain required driver logs, inspection reports, and route documentationKeep the truck cab and assigned equipment reasonably clean and organizedFollow all DOT regulations and company safety policiesAssist with collection activities when required by the assigned routeDeliver collected material to the designated disposal, transfer, or recycling facilityProvide professional service when interacting with customers and the publicQualifications Ideal candidates will have previous experience as a:Rear Loader DriverSide Loader DriverGarbage Truck DriverRefuse Truck DriverWaste Collection DriverRecycling Truck DriverRoll-Off or Commercial CDL DriverResidential Sanitation DriverPhysical Requirements The position may require:Frequent entering and exiting of the truckStanding, walking, bending, reaching, and climbingWorking around moving vehicles and heavy equipmentOutdoor work in heat, rain, humidity, and other weather conditionsLifting or handling waste containers or materials when requiredExtended periods of commercial vehicle operationBenefits Benefits / Employer Offers Benefits and additional employment details will be reviewed with qualified candidates during the hiring process.Candidate Support Ark Resource Group assists qualified applicants throughout the recruiting process.
