CDL Truck Driver – Midlothian (RVA) About the role Yorktown Materials is a wholesale supplier of palletized stone, brick, block, bulk aggregates, bagged cement, concrete pavers and natural stone, with yards in Virginia Beach, Yorktown, Midlothian and Manassas. We're hiring a CDL driver at our Midlothian yard to deliver material to contractors, jobsites and homeowners across the Richmond area, and to move material between our four yards. This is a local, home-every-night position. You'll run a flatbed with a truck-mounted forklift (Moffett), load and offload your own deliveries, and be the face of Yorktown Materials at the customer's site. Responsibilities Run daily delivery routes from the Midlothian yard, typically several stops per day within the greater Richmond area Run material transfers between all four Yorktown Materials yards (Midlothian, Manassas, Yorktown and Virginia Beach) to balance inventory; transfer runs can be up to roughly 2–3.5 hours each way Load your truck accurately against the delivery ticket; verify product, quantity and condition before leaving the yard Safely offload palletized material with the truck-mounted forklift, placing it where the customer needs it while protecting driveways, landscaping and jobsite conditions Secure every load to DOT standards and complete pre- and post-trip inspections Get delivery tickets signed, note shortages or damage, and return paperwork and pallets to the yard Communicate with the yard and dispatch on ETAs, delays and site issues; call customers ahead when required Keep the truck and forklift clean and report maintenance needs promptly Help in the yard when not on the road: loading customer pickups, receiving inbound freight, and keeping stock organized Follow all company, DOT and OSHA safety rules Requirements Valid Class A CDL with a current DOT medical card 2+ years of verifiable commercial driving experience; flatbed experience preferred Truck-mounted forklift (Moffett or similar) experience strongly preferred — we will train the right candidate Clean driving record and ability to pass DOT drug screen and background check Comfortable with load securement, tight residential drops and rough jobsite access Able to lift 50+ lbs repeatedly and work outdoors in all weather Reliable, punctual and customer-friendly; able to read tickets and handle basic paperwork accurately Schedule, pay and benefits Full-time, Monday–Friday, day shift, 40–50 hours per week Pay: $30–$35 per hour, based on experience 401(k), eligible after a 90-day introductory period Health insurance, eligible after a 90-day introductory period 1 week paid vacation after 12 months, plus 1 additional day per year of service Eight hours of sick leave accrue each month beginning on the hire date, up to a maximum of 240 hours. A doctor's note is required. Employment terms The first 90 days of employment are an introductory period. During this time we'll review your performance and fit for the role, and you can decide whether the job is right for you. Employment with Yorktown Materials is at-will, both during and after the introductory period, meaning either you or the company may end the employment relationship at any time, with or without cause or notice.
