CDL Truck Driver - Fleet Technician

Job: CDL Truck Driver / Fleet Technician Company Name: Bill Lake Modular Homes Compensation: $30 – $38 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications Location: Onsite | Sprakers, NY Industry: Modular Home Design & Manufacturing CDL Truck Driver / Fleet Technician – Modular Home Transport & Facility Support If you are an experienced driver with oversized load, modular, or long-haul experience—or open to learning these skills—and equally comfortable performing maintenance tasks, this could be the right opportunity for you. On average, about 15 out of 22 working days per month are spent on transport, while the remaining time is dedicated to vehicle upkeep, shop support, and facility projects. What You’ll Do: Safely transport modular home sections (up to 66 ft) within a 100-mile radius. Operate with escort drivers/pacers when required for wide loads (over 12 ft). Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and secure loads per DOT regulations. Handle cargo up to 50 ft; operate trailers up to 60 ft and longer with modular units. Perform routine maintenance and light repairs on vehicles, trailers, and equipment. Support factory operations, including facility upkeep and occasional special projects (e.g., snow plowing, skid steer operation, moving materials). Collaborate with dispatch, factory staff, and delivery teams to ensure timely, safe operations. What You Bring: Valid CDL license. 3+ years of professional driving experience. Oversized load hauling experience strongly preferred (or willingness to train in modular transport). Strong safety awareness and attention to detail. Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and equipment handling. Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have): Welding or mechanical repair experience. Knowledge of construction or maintenance materials. Experience transporting oversized/escorted loads. Strong organizational and communication skills.
