CDL - Truck Driver – Sand Hauling OCCUPATIONAL SUMMARY We are looking for an experienced truck driver to serve our logistics company in a Safe and timely manner. Driver will be responsible for driving a Tractor Trailer with different types of combinations, including pneumatic, flatbed, bottom dump, and maxim sand haul trailer. The tractor-trailer driver will operate and drive company trucks to transport sand/loads of finished goods and raw materials safely and efficiently from the mine to the production / manufacturing plant or a designated customer or transloading facility in a timely and professional manner. JOB DUTIES Perform pre and post-trip inspections of the truck and trailer, checking for mechanical issues, tire pressure, fluid levels, brakes, lights, and required parts and accessories to determine safe operating condition prior to departure. safety equipment in accordance with NHTSA and TDOT regulations. Document and log work/rest periods and miles driven, fuel consumption hours of service, and any incidents or accidents that occur during the trip. Comply with all applicable truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route, parking, idling, and break periods) and company policies and procedures. Maintain accurate records of the cargo, mileage, fuel consumption, hours of service, and any incidents or accidents that occur during the trip. Maintains signed invoices, shipping bills of lading, and other required paperwork; delivers documentation to the shipping office or other appropriate staff when delivery is complete. Maneuver truck and trailer into loading and unloading positions following loading crew signals. Assists with loading of or loads and unloads goods and material, using specialized equipment when warranted; unloads empty pallets and returns all equipment to designated area. Communicate with dispatchers, other drivers, and customers through wireless devices and on-board computers using a radio, phone, or GPS device. Ability to use navigation tools such as onboard GPS, and or other web-based apps. Collect and verify delivery instructions and meet delivery requirements. Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of the truck and trailer and report any defects or damage to your supervisor. Arrange trailers in shipping yards for optimum loading patterns. As necessary, clean the trailer to prevent cross-contamination of materials. Loads material into the truck. Responsible for the safe performance of spotting at loader, loading, transporting material, dumping on stockpiles, and dumping at hoppers. When not operating, the truck and trailer combination. May be required to assist in maintenance and upkeep of the yard, plant or office and with the operation of the industrial sand mine. Responsible for understanding changes to assigned work areas and any potential hazards. Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions, etc). Responsible for knowing and safely performing the procedures for start-up and shutdown, fueling, dumping, fire, runaway, emergency, and accident. Other duties as assigned by supervisor. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum three (3) years related experience driving a Class A commercially licensed vehicle. Must be 21 years or older and possess a valid class A CDL with relevant endorsements and a clean driving record. Ability to pass background and drug testing as required by federal and or state department(s) of transportation regulations. Must be able to maintain a clean and safe driving record. Ability to work independently and as a part of a team. Ability to follow instructions and directions accurately and promptly.
