CDL Patch Truck Driver

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking CDL Class A driver to operate a Hot Patch Truck. This position works in a crew of three, and follows an Eversource crew around all day long, with the primary responsibility of patching holes in the road. The ideal candidate has a proven safety track, clean motor vehicle record, and is willing to get out of the truck and do additional laboring tasks as needed. The shift for this position starts at 8:00 AM and doesn't have a specific end time so the ideal candidate would have to be very flexible. Responsibilities Safely operates a Hot Patch Truck. Cleans the patch truck at the end of every shift. Performs pre-trip inspections on a daily basis, and reports any maintenance issues to the Mechanic Shop. Reports to various asphalt plants to pickup asphalt and transports to the jobsite as needed. Adheres to all traffic laws and safety regulations while driving and operating the vehicle, ensures materials are loaded and unloaded safely, and maintains a clean and organized work environment. Maintains communication with supervisor and other team members. Follows GPS and navigation systems, as well as supervisor's instructions correctly. Gets out of the truck and helps the crew members. Experience & Education Highschool Diploma or G.E.D equivalent Some experience driving a commercial vehicle Valid Class A CDL Endorsements highly preferred Clean Motor Vehicle Record Previous experience working in the construction industry preferred Required Skills Ability to follow instructions from Supervisor and GPS Extremely safety-concious Ability to work in all weather conditions Ability to perform some physical labor tasks Willingness to learn operating other vehicles Excellent time management skills with a focus on punctuality Team-player Working Conditions The physical work environment is outdoors, at various job sites. Physical demands of the position include sitting, standing, traversing, lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, and working in adverse weather conditions.
