CDL Operator - Transportation Equipment Operator

Job Summary Seeking a reliable, experienced, and safety-conscious CDL Refuse Truck Driver to join our growing waste collection team in Laredo, Texas. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating commercial refuse collection trucks, completing assigned collection routes, and providing dependable service to our commercial and residential customers. Responsibilities Safely operate front-load and other assigned refuse collection trucks. Complete daily collection routes in a timely and efficient manner. Empty commercial waste containers ranging from 2 to 8 cubic yards. Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections. Identify and report mechanical issues, equipment damage, and safety concerns. Maintain cleanliness and proper care of assigned trucks and equipment. Follow all DOT regulations, traffic laws, and company safety procedures. Properly document completed routes, missed pickups, and service issues. Communicate professionally with dispatch, management, and customers. Transport collected waste to designated disposal facilities. Assist with additional operational duties as assigned. Experience Proven experience operating heavy construction equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, front loader trucks, dump trucks, and paving machinery in a construction or civil infrastructure setting. Demonstrated knowledge of road construction processes including asphalt paving, grading, excavation, and highway maintenance. Familiarity with FMCSA regulations governing commercial vehicle operation and safety compliance. Hands-on experience working on outdoor construction sites with exposure to manual handling of materials and power tools. Strong understanding of safety protocols related to heavy equipment operation and traffic control in work zones. Construction site experience involving roadway projects or civil infrastructure development is highly preferred. Mechanical knowledge of heavy machinery maintenance and troubleshooting is advantageous. Qualifications & Requirements ● Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). ● Experience operating commercial trucks; refuse collection experience preferred. ● Experience operating front-load refuse trucks is highly desirable. ● Acceptable driving record. ● Ability to pass applicable DOT medical, drug, and alcohol testing requirements. ● Knowledge of commercial vehicle safety procedures. ● Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions. ● Physically capable of climbing in and out of trucks and performing required duties. ● Dependable attendance and punctuality. ● Ability to work independently and follow assigned routes. ● Strong work ethic and professional attitude.
