CDL Instructor/Trainer

Duties Deliver engaging classroom instruction on topics such as traffic laws, DOT regulations, FMCSA standards, and safe driving practices for commercial vehicles Conduct hands-on training sessions for truck driving skills, including tractor-trailer operation, manual transmission handling, air brake systems, and tanker vehicle operation Assess student progress through evaluations and provide constructive feedback to foster improvement Prepare training materials, lesson plans, and assessments aligned with industry standards and regulatory requirements Ensure all training complies with federal and state regulations governing commercial driving instruction Maintain a safe learning environment by enforcing safety protocols and best practices during practical exercises Stay current with updates to FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and incorporate changes into training programs Requirements Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including tractor-trailer operation and tanker vehicle handling Valid CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) with endorsements such as tanker, air brake, and manual transmission where applicable Demonstrated expertise in commercial driving instruction or related adult education roles Strong knowledge of traffic laws, DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations, FMCSA standards, and safety protocols for commercial vehicles Experience with classroom teaching and practical training in a professional setting Ability to effectively communicate complex concepts clearly and engagingly to adult learners Familiarity with classroom management tools and instructional technology preferred Commitment to maintaining high safety standards and regulatory compliance at all times Join us in shaping the next generation of skilled drivers!
